Medicine For Herpes In My Nose

6from6 - {2} - Jason Wu Spring 2011

S ello everyone!
Today just a quick post on Jason Wu's spring collection. In Leipzig the weather has been really spring-like, which has been really nice for a change. What's new? I haven't really been inspired for blogging because of a calculation & financial terms in publishing house-exam tomorrow morning (you may think of me between 9:30 and 10:30 ;)!

So let us lighten up these thoughts with a big bow on a white blouse, on a belt or anything (check out H&M - they've got some really cute belts with big bows right now). This outfit:

blouse from IMPERIAL
(bought in Bari / Italy August 2010)
camel colored trousers in Marlene style
(from Neu4bauer)
shoes from BCBG Max Azria
(bought at Macy's Seattle July 2009)
hair pinned into a wide low-sitting bun

The Inspiration / Die Inspiration

Review (from vogue.com)

Give this to Jason Wu: He’s got the hang of a pair of pants this season. This time last year, let’s face it, trouser shapes were going haywire, but now that we’re back in the zone of “normal” where crotch levels and elongated legs are concerned, things have gone more Wu’s way. […] Now the fluid, high-waist beige pants which opened his show – and the few long-stemmed flared navy or black versions which punctuated the line-up gives him one opportunity to edge his exponentially growing business beyond the pretty dress: a push which also includes the introduction of a new line of shoes and bags for spring.

For inspiration, Wu said he’d looked to the seventies and forties, and the vivid floral paintings of the Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes . The flowers and the color brought out print dresses with multi-petaled skirts, silk city sarongs, and chiffon blouses. It’s all very mature, rationally conceived, Increasingly and precise in cut and fit-something he's working at, hard. That's admirable. But with all the pressure on his young shoulders to speed through multiple collections and the conquering of new product categories, this collection did not mark a long stride forward from the creative resort show he presented this summer.

review (translated from vogue.com)

something you have to let Jason Wu: he has the hang of the trousers in this season. About the same time last year were the cuts and shapes his pants models topsy-turvy, but now we are back in a normal zone reached - at least as regards the position of the step and visual extension of the leg. The trend is moving in a pleasant direction for Jason Wu. We saw the light gowns of trousers with high waist, which opened his show and in between of recurring long versions in navy blue or black and moving its collection and thus be more rapidly growing company in a mature direction away from the 'beautiful dress' - a step that which also shows the new line of handbags and shoes for this spring.

The inspiration was to Wu that he particularly in the seventies and forties of this century would have looked, it had also inspired the vivid floral paintings by Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes . The flowers and colors were then implemented in printed fabrics, dresses with multilayered skirts and chiffon blouses Seidensarongs. Everything has become adult, rational thought and more precise in form and in section - something that Jason Wu is working very hard. All this is admirable. However, this collection can not be seen as a stunning creative step forward, moving further from the presented by him Resort Show this summer. This may be due to the enormous pressures put on young shoulders of the designer, of which one part of a Collection at the following fast rush to act, whereas the way to new product categories should be launched as successful as possible.
