Ophelia Beliveau and her half-sister are vampires. Not the blood-sucking, pale creatures of mythology, but changed by genetic defects. They bear absolutely sunlight and take normal food.
Ophelia has a small nursery and is devastated as this once again, she called the police.
Detective Gideon O'Toole is not very fond of it because he really just wanted to call it a day. But when he sees Ophelia, his anger is blown away, because the young woman fascinated him from the first moment.

The cover is very consistent and convincing. It conveys with the title (almost) the right impression of the content and I can imagine that many a reader will want and takes the book in hand.
opinion
The story begins well worth reading, as Ophelia is in her garden and almost helpless must watch what they did to her beloved garden. But after a few pages is unfortunately clear that the story not able to hold their initial level. And although I have repeatedly stated, was for me on page 134 (of 448) final.
The first chapter begins with a kind of lexical entry, in which it is clear that vampires are genetically modified people who find out until puberty, what they really are. And so rare that this mutation That no one appears in the existence of these beings think.
So far so good. Nevertheless, there are in continuous action of some details that do not fit to do so. To me it is not clear whether the people now know that there are vampires or not. Ophelia's sister has a club where most of the vampires, but which is more of the harmless variety, because there certain things - are not tolerated - among other things, certain sexual practices. Furthermore, there are acquaintances and friends, who know what is Ophelia and guard itself, the one or two secrets.
